FAQ

  • Doctor, I'm afraid! Will it hurt?

    01.06.2007
As a rule, this question is only posed by patients visiting our clinic for the first time. One of the main principles of modern dentistry is that the patient should feel no discomfort in the dentist's chair. The main discomfort factor, no doubt, is pain felt during dental work. This is why our clinic's dentists always administer proper anesthesia before the commencement of any dental work, utilizing the latest anesthetics (via injection by ultra-thin needles). These are new-generation anesthetics with five times the strength of Novocain, which very rarely carry any (e.g. allergic) side-effects. Before injecting the anesthetic we apply a special gel to the gums to make the injection itself painless.
  • How often should I see a dentist?

    01.06.2007
Most people use the following logic: If my teeth don't ache, why should I see a dentist? Our "typical Ukrainian" sees a dentist only when a tooth begins to ache, or in extreme cases, when a "small hole" the size of "half a dumpling" appears in a tooth. So, if you feel a cavity in your tooth you should know that the process of its destruction is at an advanced stage. A toothache for several days and nights in a row signals a cry for help, an SOS!!! Treating such a tooth will cost you significant time and money. That is why it is necessary to see a dentist no less than twice a year for a checkup. Checkups at our clinic are provided free of charge. Examinations of teeth and gums by a dentist can reveal early signs of caries (cavities)-the first stage of tooth damage, something that can remain unnoticeable to you. Treatment of such a tooth will cost you little in terms of time and money.
  • A frontal tooth that has undergone root-canal treatment has darkened, causing me to hold back my smile. Does it now require a crown?

    01.06.2007
Such an instance may require bleaching from the inside. The tooth may, however, darken again. Long-term results can be achieved by the application of a veneer-a thin ceramic layer covering only the tooth's outer part. This procedure does not require filing the tooth from all sides, as crowning does. The application of veneers can solve a variety of other problems-close gaps between teeth, straighten "crooked" teeth (if for some reason braces cannot be fitted), or change the shape of teeth.
  • I've had a toothache for several days now. What should I do?

    01.06.2007
The tooth must be attended to immediately. Severe toothache indicates that the tooth's pulp (commonly known as the nerve) has been infected by caries. Such a case first requires endodontics (root-canal treatment), followed by a filling or tooth restoration. Work on such teeth is spread over a number of appointments. Proper treatment of such teeth can prolong their service for many years.
  • Doctor, my gums bleed often, and an unpleasant odor emanates from my mouth. How can I fight this?

    01.06.2007
Bleeding from the gums can occur for a number of reasons, most often because of gum infection resulting from the improper care of teeth. Plaque, containing various disease-causing bacteria, causes infection. Removal of the plaque and the application of anti-inflammatory agents ends the bleeding.
